Steve joined Amherst in 1994 and has worked with credit union investment portfolios since 1986. He is a seasoned professional well versed in all National Credit Union Administration rules and regulations pertaining to investment securities (703.5), Prompt Corrective Action (PCA), and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) 115 issues.
Steve created the Safety, Liquidity, Yield, Diversification, Cashflow, and Regulatory Consideration (SLYD-CR) methodology, a cash management method designed exclusively for credit unions.
An active educator, Steve delivers Credit Union Board Investment Training Sessions throughout the country. He is a registered sponsor with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) and a past chairman of the Financial Suppliers Advisory Committee, a division of Credit Union Executives Society (1993-1995).
Steve holds a BS from the University of Montana, Missoula.
